Those Who Can: The University of Iowa School of Art and Art History Studio Faculty Exhibition will be on view through March 6 in the third-floor gallery space of the Figge Art Museum, 225 West Second Street in Davenport. A reception will honor the artists from 3 to 5 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 30.
The first UI faculty exhibition since the flood of 2008 displaced both the School of Art and Art History and the Museum of Art (UIMA) from their facilities was curated by new UIMA director Sean O’Harrow, and is dedicated to the memory of art faculty member Thomas R. Aprile, who died last year.
As a direct reflection of the range of media taught in the studio arts program, the exhibition includes paintings, sculpture, intermedia, mixed media, metal arts, photography, three-dimensional design, and graphic design.
