Climate Healers founder to speak on sustainability alternatives Feb. 10

Sailesh Rao, founder and president of the nonprofit organization Climate Healers, will discuss sustainability and alternatives to current debates on the climate issue Thursday, Feb. 10, on the University of Iowa campus.

His talk, “From Meditation to Mitigation? Changing Paradigms in the Face of Climate Change,” will be held at 4 p.m. in room 101 of Becker Communication Studies Building. The event is free and open to the public.

Rao will discuss the global climate crisis and examine the basic foundational axioms at the nexus of the current debates on population, consumption, and technology that leaves an enormous human footprint. He will then present a thought-provoking alternative to these debates.

Before starting Climate Healers, Rao was involved in many projects related to sustainability, including his membership in Al Gore’s Climate Project. For more information on Climate Healers, visit www.climatehealers.org.
