Construction will affect Hawkins Drive Feb. 13–22

Construction managers overseeing the West Campus Transportation Center project announced several overnight lane/road closures that will affect people traveling to and around University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Beginning Monday, Feb. 13, through Wednesday, Feb. 22, construction crews will continue the erection of structural steel for the West Campus Transportation Center skyway. To accomplish this, Hawkins Drive just north of the main entrance to UI Hospitals and Clinics to the entrance to the Center for Disabilities and Development will be closed each night at 7 p.m. and reopened by 5 a.m. the next day. During these hours southbound traffic on Hawkins Drive will not be able to access the hospital main entrance. Please follow all posted detour signs and allow time for traffic delays. Access to the hospital main entrance and hospital parking ramps will be available from Melrose Avenue to Hawkins Drive.
