100 Great Iowa Nurses announced

We’ve all met at least one outstanding nurse whose courage, compassion, and commitment to the nursing profession stands out above all others.

Each year, 100 Great Iowa Nurses are selected from a pool of hundreds of admirable candidates and honored by the state of Iowa, fellow nurses, and community leaders.

This year’s 100 Great Iowa Nurses will be honored on May 6, 2012 — the beginning of National Nurses Week — at a reception in Veterans Memorial Auditorium in Des Moines. Recipients from prior years are invited back to be recognized, and the 2012 awardees will invite family, friends, and colleagues to share in the recognition of their outstanding achievements.

The complete list of this year’s 100 Great Iowa Nurses, and additional details, can be found at www.greatnurses.org.

Created by the Iowa Nurses Association, the Iowa Nurses Foundation, the Iowa Hospital Association, and the University of Iowa College of Nursing to honor outstanding nurses from across the state, this annual program recognizes nursing professionals who have displayed the highest levels of professionalism and commitment to their patients.
