High rollers, head to Old Brick, help the Widernet Project

The Widernet Project will host a casino-themed fund-raiser, High Rollers for Education, from 7 p.m. to midnight, Thursday, April 28, in Old Brick, 26 East Market Street in Iowa City.

Admission is $5; advance tickets are available through the University Box Office, located on the first floor of the Iowa Memorial Union. The event will feature 11 black jack tables, one roulette table, one craps table, and six poker tables. Raffles and door prizes will be part of the festivities.

The Widernet Project is a University of Iowa service organization dedicated to improving digital communications to all communities and individuals around the world in need of educational resources, knowledge, and training. The organization is best known for development and distribution of the eGranary Digital Library, a plug-and-play server that provides instant access to millions of digital documents without the need of connection to the Internet.

High Rollers for Education will raise money to send educational resources to the University of Liberia.
