Strike a Gothic pose at Johnson County Fair

Put yourself in one of the most famous paintings in the world—Grant Wood’s American Gothic—at the Johnson County Fair on Thursday, July 28. The University of Iowa Museum of Art will be at the University’s booth in Building C with a replica of American Gothic that will allow fair-goers to put their own faces in place of the famous couple.

In addition, a replica of Wood’s Plaid Sweater, an exceptional painting from the UIMA collection depicting an all-American boy holding a football, will be displayed at the UI booth from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fair-goers will be encouraged to take photos and send them to the UIMA for posting on the museum’s web site.
