The concert is free and open to the public.
The annual outdoor concert series features live performances from regional bands every Friday from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. throughout the summer. In the case of rain, the concerts will be held on the lower level of the Chauncey Swan parking ramp.

In addition, Iowa City’s Summer of the Arts’ Downtown Saturday Night series will feature the music of New Broom at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 6, north of the Sheraton City Plaza Hotel in downtown Iowa City.
Downtown Saturday Night performances typically will be held at the aforementioned pedestrian mall location from 6:30 to 9 p.m., and will be free and open to the public. In the case of rain, the concerts will be held on the lower level of the Chauncey Swan parking ramp.

Lastly, if you’re looking for a free outdoor movie, the UI Pentacrest is the place to be at sundown, Saturday, Aug. 6. Iowa City’s annual free movie series will continue its 2011 season with a screening of the James Bond movie Goldfinger.
The event is free and open to the public. Organizers acquired the old movie screen from the Englert Theatre and will hang it from the columns of Macbride Hall for the free outdoor screenings on Saturday nights throughout the summer.
