Volunteers needed to help On Iowa! take off

This fall, The University of Iowa kicks off the academic year in a big way—the first-ever On Iowa! program designed to immerse first-year students in campus culture. And we can’t do it without your help.

Organizers have enlisted hundreds of volunteers, but they’re still looking for UI faculty, staff, alumni, and community members who can help with residence hall move-in, officiate games at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center, wrangle the crowd at a Saturday-night concert, or staff a campus welcome booth.

On Iowa! events begin the morning of Wednesday, Aug. 17, and run through the weekend, wrapping up with the President’s Block Party on Sunday, Aug. 21. Flexible shifts are as short as 90 minutes, and groups of colleagues and friends can volunteer together.

To volunteer, go to oniowa.uiowa.edu and click the sign-up link in the right-hand column. You’ll get a t-shirt or two—and a chance to be part of UI history.
