College of Public Health earns renewed accreditation

The University of Iowa College of Public Health has earned re-accreditation by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) for a period of seven years, the maximum term possible.

Following review of the college’s self-study documentation and an October 2010 site visit, the three-member CEPH accreditation team remarked upon the quality of the college’s multidisciplinary faculty and strong research record, including a broad range of collaborations among departments, other academic units on campus, and extramural agencies and organizations. The report also acknowledged an extensive array of workforce development activities, noting that more than 36,000 individuals participated in the college’s continuing education activities between 2008 and 2010.
