Hawkeyes to open football season against Tennessee Tech

The University of Iowa football team will makes its 2011 regular season debut with a game against Tennessee Tech University at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 3, at Kinnick Stadium.

Tickets are $57 ($25 for youth) and are available through the UI athletics ticket office. NOTE: Availability is down to scattered single tickets.

The Hawkeyes are coming off an eight-win campaign in 2010, capped off by a victory in the Insight Bowl against border rivals from the University of Missouri. Returning starters include senior wide receiver Marvin McNutt, sophomore running back Marcus Coker, senior cornerback Shaun Prater, and senior defensive lineman Mike Daniels. Junior quarterback James Vandenberg will step in for departed signal caller Ricky Stanzi.
