On Thursday, Oct. 13, University of Iowa students, faculty, and staff pursuing sustainability initiatives will hold a rally from 3:30 to 6 p.m. at the Kinnick Stadium Press Box, McCord Club Level.
The event, sponsored by Engineers for a Sustainable World and the Office of the President, will showcase student work and research related to sustainability. University faculty teaching related courses and leading sustainability research projects will discuss their work. University staff projects contributing to campus sustainability efforts also will be featured.
The event’s purpose is to bring together university people, in all departments, working toward the same goal of sustainability, says organizer Craig Just, coordinator of sustainability programs in the College of Engineering and chair of the UI Sustainability Curriculum Advisory Committee. The rally is designed to allow people from across campus to meet and discuss current endeavors and celebrate the progress made toward sustainability.
