The University of Iowa College of Law will host a conference and tribute to celebrate the life and work of David Baldus, Joseph B. Tye Professor of Law, on Thursday, Oct. 20.
Baldus was one of the nation’s leading researchers in the death penalty, particularly on how race is a factor in capital punishment decisions. He died June 13 at the age of 75.
The conference, which will examine the impact and influence of Baldus’ research and advocacy, will begin at 1 p.m. in Room 245 in the Boyd Law Building. The tribute will begin at 4 p.m. in Levitt Auditorium.
