College of Law to host lecture on impact of financial crisis in Africa

Florence Gatome, senior manager of the public sector group at PriceWaterhouseCoopers in Nairobi, Kenya, will lecture about accounting roles in global development at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 28, at the UI College of Law.

Gatome will share with students and faculty her unique perspective regarding the effect of the global financial crisis on the development of emerging countries.

The Oct. 28 presentation schedule will include:

  • 1:30-2:30 p.m.: Gatome’s lecture, “The Impact of the Financial Crisis on Africa,” in room 285 of the Boyd Law Building.
  • 2:30-3:30 p.m.: question-and-answer session with Gatome and UI law professor Enrique Carrasco.
  • 3:30–4 p.m.: meet and greet with Gatome in the law school lobby. Refreshments will be provided.
