Garry Smith, president of the Sioux City-based maker of Jolly Time popcorn, will discuss running his family-owned company in an appearance at the University of Iowa on Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 5:45 p.m. at the Sheraton Hotel in Iowa City.

Smith is president of the American Pop Corn Co., founded in Sioux City by his grandfather, Cloid H. Smith, in 1914. Smith started working for the company while still in high school and joined full-time in 1976.
