The University of Iowa Campus Activities Board (CAB) will present screenings of the movie Crazy Stupid Love at 10 p.m., Thursday-Saturday, Nov. 3-5, in the Illinois Room of the Iowa Memorial Union.
CAB also will present a performance by comedian Heather McDonald at 10 p.m., Friday, Nov. 4, in the Illinois Room of the Iowa Memorial Union, and a screening of Donnie Darko at midnight, Saturday, Nov. 5, at the Englert Theatre.
Crazy Stupid Love centers around a father’s life unraveling while he deals with a marital crisis and tries to manage his relationship with his children. Admission is $2.
McDonald is a full-time writer and story producer on E!’s Chelsea Lately. She can be seen weekly on the roundtable or performing in comedy sketches where she is know for impersonating celebrities such as Drew Barrymore, the Kardashians, and the Octomom. Admission is $5.
The Donnie Darko screening is the latest installment of the CAB/Bijou Late Night Films series. The film features a troubled teenager (Jake Gyllenhaal) who escapes a bizarre accident and is plagued by visions of a large demonic rabbit that manipulates his actions. Admission is free for UI students and $3 for the general public.
