University of Iowa Wellness is offering Turkey Trot, a program to help individuals be more active through the holidays.
The program will run Nov. 14 through Dec. 13. The goal is to accumulate at least 500 minutes of physical activity over the 30-day program (or about 17 minutes a day). Faculty and staff can register for the program and find tips and ideas for fitting in exercise on the Turkey Trot website, www.uiowa.edu/hr/wellness/tt/index.html. A form for documenting activity time can be found on the site as well.
UI faculty and staff are also invited to participate in two free Coaching Refresher Sessions to gain more ideas for staying more active, eating healthier, and managing stress during the holidays:
- Holiday Help—Staying Motivated: 12:15-12:45 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 8, in Meeting Room 1A of the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center (CRWC).
- Holiday Support for Stress and Eating Temptations: 12:15-12:45 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 8, in the UI Hospitals and Clinics Carver Pavilion atrium.
