Iowa Dive Club hosts Olympian Laura Wilkinson

Olympic gold medal winner Laura Wilkinson will work with and inspire area divers at a dive clinic hosted by the Iowa Dive Club on Sunday, Nov. 20.

The clinic runs from noon to 6 p.m. at the University of Iowa Campus Recreation and Wellness Center (CRWC). Wilkinson will give talks at 12:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m., and 5:40 p.m. Divers also will participate in skills sessions using the CRWC’s Olympic Diving Well, Dry-Land Spring Floor and Spotting Rigs, and Video Replay facilities.

The clinic is open to the general public and requires preregistration. The fee is $130 for athletes and $50 for coaches. A registration form is available at iowadiveclub.com.

Laura Wilkinson won the gold medal in 10-meter platform diving at the 2000 Summer Olympics. She also is the 2005 World Championship platform gold medalist, 2004 World Cup platform gold medalist, and holds 19 U.S. national titles.

The Iowa Dive Club is a registered U.S. Diving and AAU club operated by UI Recreational Services.
