Holiday Thieves’ Market will steal your heart

Work by Pam Dyer-Walters

Old Hearts-New Parts, a mixed media piece by Pam Dyer-Walters, is one example of the work that can be found at the Holiday Thieves' Market.

The University of Iowa’s Fine Arts Council will hold the Holiday Thieves’ Art Market from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday–Sunday, Dec. 4–5, in the Main Lounge of the Iowa Memorial Union.

More than 100 artists will exhibit and sell their original work in painting, ceramics, photography, woodworking, drawing, metal, glass, jewelry, fiber, and more.

Each year artists from all over the Midwest apply and are selected through a jury process to exhibit and sell fine art at the market, which is free and open to the public.

Several new artists will exhibit their work, including photographer Kiera Nichols, a senior at West High in Iowa City. Returning artists include Clement Clayworks with individually hand-thrown pottery and jewelry designer Nancy Krahn.
